MaStaFaktor - There The Wind Blows
Today we bring you only the second release from the exciting young label Mina Records of Switzerland. We were proud to bring you their first release by Nhar a couple of months back. His 'Afterburner EP' found fantastic support from some of the worlds elite. The remix of that release by Ripperton and label owner DJ Masaya can only be described as a masterpiece.
Today we bring you the second release. Mastafaktor are Italian duo Sergio Frazzingaro (Faktor) and Mauro Stabile (Masta). Combining forces in Genoa back in 2006 the pair have DJ'd alongside a number of the worlds finest DJ talent including Ellen Alien, Apparat and Margareth Dygas. 'There The Wind Blows' is a wonderful stripped back production. Laid back, yet firm beats, skip the track along and matched together with the sultry, jazzy vocal make for a true delight of a track.
Masaya's plan of releasing new artists with established remixers is working beautifully and here she gives us another two blistering remixes. First up is one of THE hottest talents right now Agnès. Turning out to be a don of the 'Deep', Agnès takes the original and injects some rolling funk, and traditional house beats, which, when matched with the chopped up elements and vocal of the original. create a gorgeous rework.

A groovy minimal track intertwined with a tribal bass line and excellent airy jazzy vocals which transports the listener on a rhythmic, sexy voyage. Bouncy and dance floor orientated, this original track is true to the MaStaFactor trademark sound of intense exploration and dark sophisticated rhythmical waves.

A funky version true to the original, Dave DK cleverly used the sexy vocals and heavy breathing more as an instrument than as the focal point of the track. The darker background synthesiser balances the light highs and brings this track to the dance floor with panache.
MaStaFaktor ThereThe Wind Blows - Agnès remix
Another faithful re-mix from Swiss dance master, Agnès. The same vocals are used but with a lighter, more aquarelle touch giving an impression of swirling while the gay baseline keeps the dance floor filled to the limit.

A fat bass, happy claps and faithful melody rings true to this more housier track. Light breaks have been spread through out the track and prove effective. Some of the original sounds have been cleverly and subtly distorted. |
