Dutch producer Edomite's first introduction to electronic music was through the purchase of compilation CD's. Fast forward to 2007 and it was his own productions that were on the verge of being compiled. Strongly influenced by the likes of Jeff Mills, Daniel Bell, Ripperton and Minilogue, Edomite in his own work, looks to harness power and momentum and present it with delicate and textured face. Deep and atmospheric, "Unknown Waters" is a perfect example.
Remixing "Unknown Waters" is the task of Glasgow's Sei A, and boy does he deliver. Renowned for his exquisite cross-genre productions, he once again presents a beautiful, all enveloping soundscape that snatches us from its opening bars. Wildly hypnotic, and with an inspired break-beat drop, this remix will have the eyes rolling and the hands raising...
Our second original comes from another fresh producer in the form of Dorian Clein. Having only been producing since 2009, the London born producer's first forays were together with his brother under their "Leaking Shell" moniker. Those down-beat productions were soon replaced by a more minimal house sound after an eye opening trip to Cologne. "Melanin" is not so much minimal, as it is deep and pretty. Its sweeping strings and beautiful melody will see it become a firm favourite on the floor.
Clara Moto returns to Mina on the remix of "Melanin". Her trademark 'deep' touch is a perfect match for the original as she leads it to new depths whilst adding a housey touch through her beats. A softening of the melody and the addition of an acoustic guitar makes this a perfect selection for the summer terraces.
