Swizterland ’s Mina Records release the latest single from Spanish producer Mangelt, “22® Grados”, this winter.
Having released tracks and mixes from the likes of Agnes, Ripperton, Chaton, Dave DK, Nhar and label chief Masaya, the Swiss house and techno imprint has developed a strong reputation since it’s birth a few years back, and rightly so.
“22® Grados” will do no harm to the label’s sterling reputation as both of it’s tracks have the sort of refined, modern tech-house feel that garned solid support for the imprint in the past.
The A-side “22® Grados” stripped, bassline led chugger is as warm as it is powerful and serves as a timely reminder that subtlety goes a long way in house music. Percussive melodies and a sporadic FM synth stab wrap around the solid groove beautifully, making for a track which sounds tight, gluey and engaging.
“I Want A Icescream” on the flip, while warm like it’s counterpart, is a slightly moodier affair. The focus is on the groove and some wonderfully resonant bottom end, while keys float atop it adding brief hints of trippy melody. Late night house music for those who like to close their eyes and dance.
This is another very strong release for the Mina imprint, ands is more than worth a look.
